For a cheap hotel, London, England offers much for the traveler on a budget. There are also choices in hostels and inns as well, and of course, for those who wish to stay outside the city, there is always the option of the London bus tour. Inside the actual city, there are plenty of places to eat and drink for less than the more touristy haunts, but one must be willing to perch among the locals. This morning we will drive past many famous sights such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street (the home of the Prime Minister), Trafalgar Square and many more.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY – This magnificent and world-famous building is this country’s most important church and has been the site of every coronation since 1066. Our tour includes the Royal Chapels, resting place for most of our medieval monarchs since the time of Henry III in the thirteenth century, Poet’s Corner and much more. This church is used for the country’s main religious ceremonies such as state weddings and funerals, the last two being for Diana, Princess of Wales and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. When services prohibit a visit inside the Abbey we will visit the Chapter House instead.

RUNNYMEDE - Here we shall see where King John was forced to seal the Magna Carta in June 1215.

WINDSOR CASTLE – Windsor is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world, the home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Your visit includes Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, the most famous dolls’ house in the world, and St George’s Chapel. You will also be able to see Changing of the Guard* take place.

LUNCH & SHOPPING IN WINDSOR – The restaurant is situated in the heart of Windsor, just 200 metres from the castle gates (tour price does not include lunch).

HAMPTON COURT – Set on the banks of the River Thames, Henry VIII honeymooned four of his six wives here. We visit the State Apartments and the spectacular formal gardens set in over 60 acres.
